Police Officer’s in Whitby, North Yorkshire, have smashed what they believe to be one of the UK’s biggest Drug Trafficking Rings in British history.

The Office of Commissioned Operations, the Think Tank Department of The Metropolitan Police, who authorized the Police Sting last May, have yesterday closed the case as ‘Successful’.

Home Office sources have confirmed that the operation known as “Spear-Point” was not only a success, but has managed to send a “Very definite message” to those wishing to risk Illegally Importing drugs through use of every day stock.  The details of the hard hitting operation were handed over to a staff member at World News Media early this morning, when Assistant Chief Constable. John Harrow launched the official Press Release.

“Following a full twelve months investigation into the illegal import of various stolen goods and narcotics, the O.C.O and the Home Office has concluded its lengthy operation known as ‘Spear Point’ one-hundred per cent successful, and in conclusion seized items and drugs with an estimated value of more than £496 million.  In narcotics alone the estimated value has been estimated to be in the region of £100 million, while stolen goods made nearly £300 million.  Smashing one of the UK’s biggest networks, the government has issued a stern warning to anyone outside the British Mainland that we have now reached a point where the latest technology WILL out-smart any illegal organisation attempting to smuggle their products into the UK.”

According to latest figures released by the Home Office, more than 43% of all goods seized are sent via legitimate businesses.  In the case of “Operation Spear Point” legitimate Toy companies are now being targeted by illegal organisations, as well as Drug Barons who pay the business bosses where they don’t already have “Bully” leverage in place.

Although many may believe that £500 million is not a lot considering that Barons make billions per year, it is estimated that if the newest technology available to government departments today made similar seizures on a monthly basis, then within two years the criminals would consider the risk too high to use Britain as a “Through Port”.

The total success of “Operation Spear-Point” has led to more than 1,200 arrests, frozen bank accounts containing more than £1.2 billion, real estate estimated at more than £16 million and over 700 automobiles.  All assets seized will be stored until January 1st 2011, after which, if the authorities decide to prosecute the accused, then all assets will be auctioned off at a fraction of their true value.
